I Want A World

“Little children let us love not in word or talk, but in deed or truth.” 1 John 3:18

On a mountaintop
On a treetop
On a desert plain
On a sandy beach
World’s suffocating me,
I see it all.

Family torn apart.
Small child pressed against the wall,
Listening to the fighting words.
Can anyone hear it?

Stomach growling;
Brothers and Sisters starving
To death.
Is help arriving?

Fire fuels in political debates;
Offending the person who’s in charge
People calling Brothers and Sisters idiots.
What have we become?

Brothers and Sisters fall down,
Destruction wreaks throughout the seven lands
When death strikes, we come together (then scatters)
Do you know the difference?

I want a world back…
No more silent pleas
No more helpless arrivals
No more silly rivalries
No more contrast.

I want a world
Where help and kindness is normal.
Where everyone greets others like
Brothers and Sisters.
