From Dawn to Dusk

He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. 1 Peter 2:24

There is a man in the park.
From dawn to dusk,
He sits and smiles with chalk.

A child eyed the chalk.
Picture of a castle
Full of candy, gold, flowers!
Games all day long
And no bedtimes!

A teen eyed the chalk.
Picture of a bed,
No finals needed to be taken.
Food all day long
And alas free!

An adult eyed the chalk.
Picture of people together,
A joyful reunion.
Laughing all day long
And no more tears!

A soul eyed the drawings.
Going up to the man,
Saying one word: Thanks.
Celebration all day long
And no more pain!

There is a man in the park
From dawn to dusk,
He extends a scarred hand for others.
